Anticipating Worship (September 1)

Twelfth Sunday after Pentecost

Worship Focus:
The Christian life is a constant looking ahead. What the eyes cannot see is what the heart of faith accepts when promised by God. Abraham serves as a wonderful Old Testament example and he is praised for it in the New Testament. Christ describes the faithful servant who looks ahead and is ready for the Master’s return.

Readings:
Genesis 15:1-6
Psalm 33
Hebrews 11:1-3,8-16
Luke 12:32-40

Sermon:  Genesis 15:1-6
"Believe the Lord"

Prayer of the Day:
Almighty and everlasting God, you are always more ready to hear than we to pray, and to give more than we either desire or deserve. Pour upon us the abundance of your mercy, forgiving us those things of which our conscience is afraid, and giving us those good things for which we are not worthy to ask, except through the merits and mediation of your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.  Amen.

Please join us in worship this Sunday at 9:30 am.
Pastor Mark Kom will be sharing God's Word with us.
