Pastor Staab Funeral Info

The Lord called Pastor Bill Staab to his eternal home in heaven this past Saturday morning.

There will be a visitation at Salem Ev. Lutheran Church  (14940 62nd St. N, Stillwater, MN) on Friday, September 2, from 5:00-7:00 PM.  The funeral will be on Saturday, September 3, at 11:00 AM.  It is also at Salem.  There will be a visitation one hour before the service.

We rejoice in the reality of the resurrection because of Jesus who is the resurrection and the life  (John 11:25,26).

Helen Van Allen Funeral

After a brief bout with lung cancer, the Lord called Helen home this past Monday morning.

Her Christian funeral will be Friday, August 26, at 11:00 AM.  There will be a visitation an hour before and a meal after.

We thank our God that he brought Helen to faith and built her up in that faith.  Her confirmation verse and funeral text is John 6:68:  "Lord, to whom shall we go?  You have the words of eternal life."  Helen now enjoys the life that never ends.

Please keep the family in your prayers.

Susannah Crider

Yesterday the Lord in his wisdom called Susannah Crider to her eternal home.  While this is sudden and unexpected, we look to the Lord and lean on his love.  He adopts children into his family through baptism and welcomes them to his side.  That is what he has done with Susannah.

There are many details that are still coming.  As soon as these become definite, we will pass them along.

In the meantime, please keep the Criders in your prayers.

National Night Out - August 2

Tomorrow St. John will be part of the annual National Night Out celebration in the upper Swede Hollow Park.  (It is right down the road from church.)

For a number of years we have been grilling hot dogs and giving them away.  We also set up a table and neighbors bring items to share.  It has become quite a tradition.

The fun begins at 6:00 PM.  There will be a band to entertain and visits from local fire and police departments.

See you there.
