Action by the St. John Lutheran Church Voters

The St. John Voters' Assembly approved a motion to extend a 1 year divine call for an individual to teach pre-kindergarten. We would redistribute kindergarten through eighth grade among the existing teachers. This means that we will not be calling a full time teacher to fill the position vacated by Mr. Ewerdt.

Our leaders did not come to this decision lightly, but feel it gives our school the best opportunity for long term success. We intend for this situation to be short term only, and pray for the Lord to bless our enrollment and ministry efforts such that we could support a fourth full time teacher as soon as possible.

To help our school grow its enrollment and expand our ministry, our Committee on Education is working toward the following:
  • Define and implement a recruitment/marketing plan
  • Determine how our school can better partner with Immanuel Hmong
  • Research the feasibility of an Early Childhood Education program
A sincere thanks to our many voters, congregation members, and school parents for attending the meeting, voicing your concerns, and displaying your support for our elementary school ministry and its staff. Continue to keep the ministries of St. John Lutheran Church and St. John Lutheran School in your prayers.

Prayer of the Day:  Almighty God, your Son our Savior was taken up in glory and intercedes for us at your right hand.  Through your living and abiding Word, give us hearts to know him and faith to follow where he has gone; who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.  Amen.
