Our SMART Board is Up and Running

Our new SMART presentation board was installed a few weeks ago, and is now fully operational. This special computer hardware functions like a touch-screen white board. It enables a teacher and/or students to electronically manipulate objects and to harness the power of the Internet in the front of the classroom. Students in sixth, seventh, and eighth grades get to remind Mr. Scharf how to run it nearly each day, as he integrates it in classes. Students will also be sharing their book report presentations on the board between now and Christmas break. Please stop in room 4 for a demonstration of the SMART board and its capabilities sometime after school or church.

This technology was made possible through the proceeds of our 2013-2014 Scholastic Book Fair; we thank all who purchased books last school year. We thank the "Saintly City Fifty-Sixers" for providing the integrated audio system and cabling. We also thank the St. John Trustees for their work in getting the hardware in place as well as for arranging some additional electrical wiring.

Advent Service Reminder

Tomorrow evening we gather in God's house to continue our Advent preparation.  The service time is 7:00 PM in the church.

As we await the Savior's birth at Christmas, we anticipate the arrival of God's gifts during Advent.

Before worship, we will enjoy food and fellowship in the basement.  Supper begins at 5:45 PM and runs until 6:45 PM.  Yarusso's Restaurant is supplying the spaghetti.  (A big thank you to them.)  The free will offering will go to the support of Merrick Food Shelf.

See you then.
