Prayer of the Day:  Lord God Almighty, so rule and govern our hearts and minds by your Holy Spirit that we may always look forward to the end of this present evil age and to the day of your righteous judgment.  Keep us steadfast in true and living faith and present us at last holy and blameless before you; through your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.  Amen.

Worship Focus:  Reformation Realities—Old and New
                             Grace Alone.  Faith Alone.  Scripture Alone.

We will have three devotions based on the truths of the Bible restored through the Reformation.

Prayer of the Day:  Heavenly Father, our refuge and strength, pour out your Holy Spirit on your faithful people.  Keep them steadfast in your Word, protect and comfort them in all temptations, defend them against all their enemies, and bestow on the Church your saving peace; through your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.  Amen.

This year marks the 500th anniversary of Luther's posting of the 95 Theses  (October 31, 1517).  Our special worship on Sunday will commemorate the beginning of the significant event that allows us to appreciate our God.

Prayer of the Day:  Grant, O merciful Lord, to your faithful people pardon and peace that they may be cleansed from all their sins and serve you with a quiet mind; through Jesus Christ, your Son, our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.  Amen.

Reformation Concert (October 28)

On Saturday, a combined choir from area churches will present some of Martin Luther's hymns in a sacred concert.  There will also be organ pieces and congregational singing.  The time is 3:00 PM.

A reception with German deserts will follow.

Come and celebrate the 500th anniversary of the Reformation in this way.  We may take for granted the many songs that we sing regularly.  But we can be glad that we can praise God with our voices in music and embed key truths in our minds through melodies.
